Badia is a peaceful and dreamily municipality in the holiday region Alta Badia; its charming villages La Villa, San Cassiano, Pedraces and San Leonardo offer the ideal conditions to escape the humdrum of everyday life.

The idyllic area is located amidst the two natural parks Fanes-Sennes-Braies and Puez Odle and invites to take romantic walks or to make extended mountain and adventurous rock climbing tours in and around Badia – called Abtei in German.

For people who are interested in history it is recommended to take a trip to the mountain Lagazuoi; after a ride by cable car or having climbed up the mountain on foot you can view a gallery and dugouts of the First World War and at the same time enjoy a fantastic view of the surrounding mountain scenery. In Badia you can also find the birthplace of Holy Josef Freinademetz as well as the pilgrimage church Santa Croce which is a popular destination for pilgrims from all over the world.
